My name is Jonathan Barnes and I live in Brooklyn. There are many Jonathan Barnes’ in the world, and many in NYC, and although my doppelgangers would like you to believe that they are me, they are not. That is unfortunate for them. Or for me, depending on who you ask.

Well, there’s no use in trying to compare or contrast myself against other like-named individuals. That would just be a waste of a paragraph. So instead, I’ll just tell you a little bit about myself, and if you want to do the same, there’s a contact form at the bottom of this page.

You are entering…my website.

I primarily develop in PHP and enjoy curating data and creating APIs.

I like AngularJS and have become fairly comfortable with it. Coupled with my PHP API, I can build some neat SPAs.

Am I great with Photoshop? No, but I can do some cool stuff.

Performing Musician

I enjoy playing music and try my hand(s) (and feet) on the piano, bass, drums, guitar, and more recently, trumpet.

Composing music is a favorite of mine. Swing, electronic, rock, solo guitar, or whatever pops into my head.

I use Cubase and a small handful of hardware trinkets. A more amateur past time of mine, recording is a great way to incorporate love of composing, performing, and computers.

Certainly not a professional, but I absolutely love cooking. My latest recipe is a single, polished bean resting atop a small, unruly pile of different colored beans. I call it ‘The Aristocrat’.

I enjoy my coffee beyond its necessity. Ethiopians know how to grow a bean!

New to brewing, but have been enjoying pints for years.
